What it is
Sustanon is a blend of four testosterone esters (propionate, phenylpropionate, isocaproate, decanoate) that release at different speeds for a steadier level. The active hormone is plain testosterone.[2]
How it works
The esters release testosterone over short-to-long timeframes; testosterone is an androgen-receptor agonist driving anabolic effects and is partly converted to DHT and to estradiol by aromatase.[2]
Risks & side effects
Most important: The main health danger is cardiovascular: testosterone can raise blood pressure and thicken the blood (a higher red-blood-cell count), increasing the risk of clots, heart attack or stroke — have blood pressure and haematocrit checked regularly.[1][2]
Common
- Acne and oily skin.[1][2]Androgen-driven; good skin care helps, and a 5α-reductase inhibitor (finasteride) can reduce it.[2]
