What it is
Nandrolone decanoate ("Deca") is a long-acting 19-nortestosterone steroid — strongly anabolic but only weakly androgenic (about an 11:1 ratio), valued for steady lean-mass gains.[1]
How it works
It is a potent androgen-receptor agonist; unlike testosterone it is largely inactivated (not potentiated) in skin and scalp, which is why its androgenic side effects are comparatively low. It aromatizes only weakly but has moderate progestogenic activity.[1]
Risks & side effects
Most important: The standout issues are heavy suppression of your own testosterone — with testicular shrinkage and sexual dysfunction ("deca dick") — and worsened cholesterol. It is usually run with a testosterone base and a planned recovery.[1]

- Gynecomastia — partly from weak aromatization but largely from progestogenic activity.[1]Because it is progestin-driven, an aromatase inhibitor alone may not control it — keep estrogen in check and address prolactin too; treat early.[1]
